Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President of People and Culture, the Sr. Manager, People & Culture Business Partner will provide thought partnership to the leadership and teams in the areas of talent management, organizational health, employee relations, workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and ensuring the company's unique culture is being fully lived throughout the organization.
As a leader, you will contribute to improving all aspects of the employee lifecycle. You will develop a deep understanding of the business and the functional goals of each department. The Sr. Manager, People and Culture Business Partner will play an integral role in the health and success of the organization by collaborating with key cross-functional business leaders to identify, develop, and implement strategies that meet the needs of the business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Be a thought partner to our leadership and team members.
- Demonstrate success in assessing organizational health, employee relations, coaching, performance management, career development, retention, and rewards programs to promote engagement and a culture of growth and development.
- Be a key contributor in building the future of People and Culture through co-creation of initiatives that support our People and Culture Strategy.
- Diagnose opportunities and identify appropriate solutions, striking the right balance between speed/flexibility and process/compliance.
- Prioritize effectively to deliver results as a fully embedded and strategic Sr. Manager, People & Culture Business Partner with a deep knowledge of the organizational health of the employees at all levels of our teams.
- Change management: Lead and influence departmental or organizational change. Partner closely with leaders to identify functional strategies and influence, design and lead relevant organizational changes to activate strategies. Create communication plans to effectively influence team members and departments.
- Ensure unique culture, values and behaviors are fully integrated and supported from leadership to every level of the teams you support.
- Gain deep knowledge of individual and organizational dynamics to facilitate talent movement into and throughout the organization.
- Be a key partner in supporting education and clarity of our compensation programs and benefit offerings.
- Lead and support talent calibration reviews.
- Assess the need for building manager capability through high-touch support of teams and data and recommend training solutions to address gaps in competencies. Partner in implementing training programs and evaluating their success.
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of People & Culture initiatives.
- Support in identifying strengths and opportunities in our hiring process, assessment of talent, and ways to improve departmental capabilities in identifying and hiring top talent.
- Identify systemic ways to partner with new leaders in an assimilation process with their teams.
- Utilize and leverage data that will be most impactful to our teams and influence business leaders.
- Contribute to creating and implementing standards for recording employee relations issues and investigations, maintaining, and updating People and Culture related policies and procedures in our Employee Handbook and communication channels.
- Manage routine to complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations and partners with leadership to recommend appropriate action to resolve the issues in a timely manner.
- Partner with the Vice President of People and Culture on developing and implementing engagement tools to increase morale.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.
- Certification in Human Resources – PHR, SPHR or equivalent.
- 2-4 years of People and Culture Business Partner (mid-level experience).
- Extensive experience in employee relations, performance management, and federal and state employment laws
- Ability to build and work successfully in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
- Excellent consulting and communication skills with the ability to influence and negotiate.
- Demonstrated competence in other human resource disciplines including compensation, change management, talent management, organizational design and inclusion and diversity.
- Ability to work independently and exercise great judgment.
- Extensive experience in employee relations, performance management, and federal and CA state employment laws.
- Excellent conflict management skills with a demonstrated understanding of interpersonal relationship building.
Base Salary Range: $130,000-$145,000 (bonus eligible)
