Job Description
Associate/ Assistant _Packaging Designer
Overview:
The Associate Package Designer will support the daily activities of the packaging department to ensure accurate and timely production of packaging materials.
Key Accountabilities:
- Conduct market research to support trend finds and new concepts and create a recap of findings
- Understand and support the print production process from start to finish and partner to suggest improvements for better efficiencies
- Assist in the design and development of cost effective, innovative, and consumer friendly hang tags and structural designs
- Update artwork, copy, and corresponding files according to both written and verbal feedback from stakeholders
- Troubleshoot and communicate issues pertaining to vendor approvals and/or production changes
- Update art and production files
- Work directly with vendors to execute new developments and pricing
- Partner to approve digital and physical submits from vendors inclusive of color, substrate quality, and finishes
- Review and communicate any issues with the packaging sample schedule to ensure deadlines are being met and elevate concerns in order to brainstorm possible solutions
- Partner in creating on-brand solutions for each project to help maintain brand integrity while supporting execution efficiencies where applicable across the total category
- Create, update, and maintain development tracking charts, packaging brief submits and quality standards library
- Communicate submit (sample & production) comments between the Packaging team and appropriate cross-functional teams
- Meet all deadlines in adherence to the seasonal design calendar
- Special projects as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Packaging Design, Graphic Design, Illustration, Fine Arts or related field
- 2+ years of experience in the fashion industry (children’s wear knowledge a plus)
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, especially in Adobe Illustrator
- Excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills with attention to detail
- Work independently and effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Illustration skills a plus
Salary Description
$55,000 - $65,000 yearly
