Associate Merchandise Planner
Position Overview
In partnership with their manager the Associate Merchandise Planner is responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining merchandise plans for a category or sub-category. Achieving inventory goals (Open to Buy, Turn, Productivity, and Sell Thru). Supports and executes global initiatives and merchandise strategies, and performs Ad Hoc Analysis when necessary

What You’ll Do:
Develops pre-season bottom-up product level plans
- Based on strategies, partners closely with merchants to ensure products are ranking appropriately
- Shows engagement of key strategies and is able to translate to financial metrics
- Partners with Merchants to ensure financial investments are fiscally responsible and support key merchandise strategies
- Develops pre-season financial flow strategies to drive turn, revising in-season
- Accurately maintains systems with key financial KPIs and metrics
- Understands product development calendar and has ability to work independently to hit key deliverables and deadlines
- Able to articulate sales plans and target
Revises and maintains in-season product level forecasts
- Analyzes and identifies selling trends, taking action to maximize selling potential and minimize risk to financial objectives and profitability
- Manages in-season reforecasting at a color level throughout product life cycle to achieve target sell through
- Partners with Merchants to effectively manage selling opportunities and risk
- Accurately maintains systems with key financial KPIs and metrics
- Able to articulate in-season performance to plan
- Develops and fosters strong vendor partnerships
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
- Equivalent work experience would be considered
- 2 years of experience in retail planning management and/or inventory planning and forecasting
- Planning and Forecasting system experience
- Reporting tools experience, as well as Microsoft Excel
- Quantitative analytical skills, ability to form conclusions using numerical data
- Systems aptitude, knows how and when to use systems to make decisions
- Technical knowledge, understands forecasting definitions and formulas
- Sense of ownership, approaches company business as if it were their own
- Sense of urgency, proactive identification of opportunities and risks
- Ability to work independently, under time constraints, and prioritize multiple job responsibilities to meet critical deadlines
Compensation Range: $52,700 to $65,000/year
