Job Description

Design Operations Associate – Kids Surf Apparel
 
The Design Operations Assistant will assist in major seasonal design development and execution for the Hurley brand.
 
Key Accountabilities:
  • Learn to create Tech Packs throughout the season    
  • Learn to upload Tech Packs inclusive of spec pages and artwork for Sourcing    
  • Learn to create Production Tech Packs as needed and upload as necessary    
  • Gain understanding to be able to work directly with Design, Technical, and Sourcing on all seasonal style specifications    
  • Attend and observe fittings and help ensure changes/updates are executed within Tech Packs and communicated to Sourcing/Overseas Offices    
  • Participate in the creation of seasonal color palettes with Design and prepare color standards and facilitate sending these to Overseas Offices    
  • Learn to handle daily communication with Overseas Offices/Factories to resolve issues in a concise and timely manner    
  • Communicate on workload and elevate issues    
  • Attend Daily Team meetings and Training sessions    
  • Special projects as assigned     
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities/Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design, Product Development or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in the fashion industry as an Assistant or Associate
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with attention to detail
  • Must be a strategic thinker, persuasive and collaborative
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (including InDesign)
Salary Description: $75,000 - $80,000 yearly
