Job Description

We are searching for a Designer with experience in Women's woven and knit tops for our client in the wholesale industry.

Responsibilities: 
-Drive the creation of on trend fashion Woven and Knit tops for 2 brands.
-Own the design process from beginning to end from conceptualizing, interpreting season design direction, conducting research, and developing designs that align with the brand’s vision, market trends and customer preferences 
-Will collaborate with Denim Design team, Sales team and Vendor and Supply partners and play a meaningful role in building the brand’s tops business 
-Responsible for creating detailed development tech packs, of detailed sketches, design specifications and SMS request. 
-Responsible for reviewing and approving production fabric / trim / wash submits, and updating production tech packs 
-Partner with VP of Design in brainstorming sessions and conceptualization to develop new and innovative top ideas 
-Oversee organized design development of CADDED lines sheets 
-Ability to meet overlapping turning points, strong time management skills and proactive problem solving 
-Track Salesman Samples 
-Stay updated on with the latest market trends and customer preferences in Women’s fashion tops 
-Conducts communicating research & development of fabrics, washes, trims and embellishment for garment development and production -Daily communication with Vendors for development and production approvals 
-Supports design pass o@ with Technical design providing clear design details & construction 
-Review and provide Proto fit comments to vendors for SMS samples 
-Participate in production fits for bulk approval 
-Proactively communicate with VP of Design with status updates and timelines in a timely manner to ensure deadlines and needs are being met 
-Responsible for communication with cross-functional teams: Production, Tech team and Sales team to ensure detailed execution of development and bulk 
-Understand and maintain the brand’s design aesthetic and language in Women’s fashion Woven & Knit Tops category 
-Reports into VP of Design 

Qualifications: 
-6-8 years of experience 
-Woven Tops & Cut-and-Sew Knit Tops knowledge 
-Previous experience in o@-price and / or contemporary fashion design, preferably with a focus in both Woven and Cut-and-Sew Knit tops categories 
-Strong organizational skills and detail oriented 
-Proficient in design software and tools such as Adobe Illustrator, PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel 
-Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while staying flexible and agile 
-Ability to meet overlapping deadlines and strong time management and proactive problem solving 
-Excellent communication skills and the ability to present ideas confidently and clearly 
-Embraces new challenges with optimism and perseverance 
-Thorough knowledge in of silhouette, fit, fabrication and garment construction of Woven & Knit tops, with knowledge in Denim a plus 
-Elevated sense of trend, style, aesthetic and color, print & pattern and how to translate trends through the lens of the customer in an o@-price market 

Salary Range $90-120K
