DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTING
Join our client as their Director of Accounting, a vital role in managing, overseeing, and elevating all financial facets of their business. You will lead the accounting team, guarantee the integrity of our financial data, and catalyze efficiency & profitability. We are in search of a visionary accounting leader; someone who not only excels in day-to-day responsibilities, but also provides invaluable insights to guide our leadership in their financial decision-making.

This role is a Full-time, Salaried position, onsite at our Tempe HQ, Reporting directly to our CEO. Open to offering relocation & hybrid schedule (4 days in office, 1 remote).

WHO YOU ARE FOR THE TEAM
●    You have 6+ years of accounting experience in a start-up, small business, or scaling business environment.
●    You have at least 3 years of leadership experience and welcome the opportunity to coach and build our accounting team. You have successfully built and managed a team.
●    Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in either accounting, finance, or a business related degrees
●    Strong treasury management skills are essential. You have effectively managed an organization's finances, cash flow, and inventory. You are confident in your experience with the cash flow cycle of invoicing, collections, payables, reserves and use of a line of credit.
●    You understand the importance of documenting processes and an audit trail. Have successfully established and implemented systems that capture and preserve all essential departmental knowledge. Overall have a strong command of internal controls.
●    You demonstrate advanced proficiency in accounting software, utilizing Excel for data analysis, and ERP systems. Experience with ERP systems is a must, ex: Sage, Net Suite, Microsoft Dynamics.
●    You are meticulous when gathering and interpreting data. You sweat the details and are relentless about making sure everything is accurate before relaying information to leadership.
●    You have experience in 3rd party reporting i.e. banks, lenders, CPA, etc.
●    Experience and good working knowledge of the open-to-buy (OTB) inventory management process is required.
●    You are curious and ask insightful questions.
●    You are aligned with the brand values. Those values guide your decision-making around people and process.
●    You have Ninja Microsoft Excel skills. You are at an intermediate to advanced level in Excel.  You can do advanced formula usage, pivot table creation & manipulation, some complex formula creation, Macros and VBA scripting.


HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
●    You will lead, manage, inspire and build the accounting team. You will foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, accountability and a mindset of continuous improvement.
●    You will have full command of our cash-flow cycle; efficiently managing accounts payable and receivable, monitoring cash balances, projecting future cash needs, and ensuring that the business has sufficient liquidity to meet its obligations and pursue growth opportunities.
●    You will have oversight on the GL and day to day journal entries, payroll entries, reconciliations, as well as month-end close process.  You can analyze and reconcile the entire GL holistically.
●    You will be responsible for presenting financials for internal management use as well as for external use to CPA and bank partner.
●    You excel at interpreting data in our P&L / balance sheets and providing insights on what strategies will support the company's growth objectives and long-term financial health.
●    You will ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies. You will coordinate annual audits and work with external auditors to maintain a smooth and successful process.
●    You will lead the annual budgeting process and work with department heads to develop realistic financial forecasts.
●    You will continuously evaluate and improve accounting processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Salary range: $125-145K DOE
