Job Description

We are searching for a Director of FP&A for our client, an omni-channel consumer goods company, to be a key business partner to the executive team and be responsible for driving financial insight, decision support, and long-term planning across all channels of the business. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking and analytical rigor, as well as the ability to operate in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
You’ll own the company’s budgeting, forecasting, and performance measurement processes and play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s financial strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Strategy & Planning
    • Lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes across DTC, retail, and wholesale channels.
    • Partner with executive leadership to develop multi-year strategic financial plans and growth scenarios.
    • Provide forward-looking financial guidance to support decision-making, investments, and operational initiatives.
  • Financial Analysis & Reporting
    • Develop and maintain financial models to analyze business performance, revenue trends, and margin optimization.
    • Deliver clear and actionable monthly and quarterly management reports highlighting key KPIs, variances, and opportunities.
    • Partner with accounting to ensure accuracy in financial statements and performance metrics.
  • Channel & Product Profitability
    • Analyze channel performance (eCommerce, retail, wholesale) to identify opportunities for growth and efficiency.
    • Drive understanding of product and customer profitability, inventory performance, and pricing strategies.
    • Collaborate with merchandising, marketing, and operations teams to align financial targets with business initiatives.
 
  • Cross-Functional Business Partnering
    • Work closely with department heads to support resource allocation, headcount planning, and ROI analysis.
    • Provide data-driven insights to support marketing spend, promotional strategy, and inventory investments.
    • Partner with operations to evaluate supply chain costs and improve gross margin performance.
  • Systems & Process Improvement
    • Implement and enhance FP&A tools, dashboards, and reporting systems to improve accuracy and efficiency.
    • Establish scalable processes as the company grows, including improved forecasting cadence and scenario modeling.
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive FP&A experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Background in retail, apparel, consumer goods, or omni-channel businesses required.
  • Strong financial modeling and Excel/Google Sheets proficiency; experience with BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI) preferred.
  • Deep understanding of P&L management, working capital, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.

 Salary Range $150-175K
