Accountant
Job Description
We are looking for a hands-on Accountant to join our apparel client's Finance Department.
This role will report to the Accounting Manager and is a great fit for someone with strong accounting knowledge who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The Accountant will be responsible for journal entries, reconciliations, fixed assets, intercompany invoices, and multi-state sales tax filings.
Key Responsibilities
- Post journal entries, allocations, and accruals.
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure proper classification of transactions.
- Analyze general ledger activity and prepare balance sheet reconciliations (prepaid expenses, fixed assets, AR, accrued expenses).
- Process intercompany invoices and reconciliations.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and calculate depreciation.
- Reconcile monthly credit card accounts.
- Prepare and file multi-state sales tax returns.
- Analyze expense accounts and support monthly close.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen internal controls, and shorten the close cycle.
- Assist with external audits and ad hoc projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 4-6 years of accounting experience, preferably in retail or multi-entity environments
- Solid GAAP knowledge and strong GL accounting skill
- SAP Experience a plus
- Need experience with multi-state sales tax filings, sales tax.
- Proficiency in Excel
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to take ownership
The anticipated base salary range for this position is $70,000-80,000 annually.
This range represents the good-faith estimate of the pay the employer reasonably expects to offer upon hire, based on the role’s responsibilities, required experience, location, and internal equity.

Additional Compensation Equity awards, profit sharing, or other forms of non-cash compensation are not included in the posted pay range and, where applicable, will be discussed during the interview or offer process.
