Job Description
- Data Analysis And Reporting:
- Utilize sales data, inventory reports, and market trends to make informed decisions on omni-channel seasonal buys in collaboration with the merchandising team.
- Generate and present regular reports on sales performance, stock levels, and inventory turnover for total Men’s Apparel assortment.
- Identify opportunities to improve sales margins through careful inventory planning.
- Sales Forecasting and Planning:
- Develop and maintain sales forecasts based on historical data, and seasonal demand patterns.
- Create buys & inventory targets that align with merchandising strategies and seasonal omni-channel buyplan.
- Optimize topline inventory levels against sales targets and profitability goals.
- Inventory Management:
- Analyze stock levels to ensure that inventory is maintained at optimal levels and avoid overstocking or understocking.
- Work closely with production and operations teams to ensure product is received in a timely manner to the warehouse.
- Conduct monthly inventory reviews and recommend product markdowns or adjustments to merchandising strategies.
- Store Allocation:
- Monitor store performance to ensure optimal product distribution and replenishment is allocated.
- Analyze weekly sales, inventory levels, and store performance to allocate and replenish merchandise across 8 retail locations, ensuring optimal stock levels, minimizing markdown risk, and maximizing sell-through.
- Create and maintain allocation strategies based on sales trends, seasonality, store volume, and customer demand.
- Collaboration:
- Partner with the merchandising team to plan seasonal assortments and develop product strategies for both ecommerce and store channels.
- Work closely with merchandising, marketing and stores teams to ensure product launch success and customer demands are met across ecommerce and stores.
- Communicate occasionally with vendors on size level buys and official packing list quantities.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Retail Management, Merchandising, or related field.
- Experience:
- 2-5 years of experience in apparel planning, merchandising or related roles.
- Experience in data analysis and inventory management is preferred.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong analytical and retail math skills.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Familiarity with retail planning and ERP systems is preferred.
- Knowledge of the apparel industry, including trends, seasonal sales cycles, and supply chain logistics.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
- Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Proactive, adaptable, and enthusiastic about learning and contributing to the development of new products.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability to changing market conditions.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Full-time position, partial hybrid / remote in the Greater New York area.
- Ability to travel domestically.
