Job Description
- Connect statistical analysis, assortment architecture, and merchant vision into a pre-season view of the merchandise plans.
- Develop financial architecture aligned with category/brand strategies and calendars.
- Balance assortment architecture by driving top line sales and profit through focus on key
- products/initiatives, while driving new business via testing methods.
- Manage receipts to budget by scrutinizing buys with a focus on optimal inventory turn, while taking individual department calendars and flow of newness into consideration.
- Lead team in tactical execution of Merchandise Planning process including line plan management
- Partner, recommend action, and communicate business analysis and opportunities to merchant team in order to mitigate risk of achieving our financial objectives
- Manage the assessment and hindsight of our merchandise strategy to inform future planning
- decisions.
- Execute weekly reporting utilized by cross-functional teams to analyze the business. Analyze and report on results with a focus on action planning.
- Function as project manager for ad hoc projects, system implementations and updates,
- merchandise initiatives, etc.
- Collaborate with other areas of the business as needed including Merchandising, Allocation, PD, and Finance, to ensure profitability is maximized.
- Provide the leadership and the necessary formal and informal training, including one-on-one
- development, needed to produce a team that contributes consistent financial growth to the
- business.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Operations, Statistics, or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in retail merchandise planning, inventory management, financial planning or financial analysis.
- 5+ years of management experience.
- Proficient with forecasting methodologies and statistical modeling.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills - concisely presents complex information and
- recommendations to all levels throughout the organization.
- High level of computer literacy; exposure to relevant planning, finance, analytical, data
- management systems.
- Analytical thinker and self-motivated problem solver.
- Adapts to situational demands, flexible and capable of managing competing priorities.
- Impeccable organizational skills, ability to multitask.
- Extremely detail oriented.
- Able to thrive in ambiguity.
- Highly collaborative team player.
Pay: From $110,000-$130,000
