Job Description
Our client, a rapidly expanding Gen-Z Fashion Brand, is seeking a Merchandising Manager to lead and manage a team of merchandisers overseeing garment production across multiple factories. This role is crucial for ensuring seamless production processes, timely delivery, and high-quality outcomes. The ideal candidate will be a skilled leader with expertise in fast fashion and fluency in Mandarin and English to facilitate effective communication with factories and international teams.
- Lead and manage a team of 10+merchandisers working with 150+ factories, setting clear goals, providing guidance, and ensuring the team’s performance aligns with production and business objectives.
- Oversee the coordination of production schedules, approvals, and vendor relationships managed by the merchandising team.
- Work closely with design, production, and quality teams to ensure product development and production align with brand standards and timelines.
- Foster and maintain strong partnerships with factories and suppliers, ensuring clear communication and alignment on production goals.
- Supervise the costing process handled by the merchandising team, ensuring budgets are met without compromising quality.
- Act as the escalation point for production challenges faced by the merchandising team, providing strategic solutions to maintain delivery timelines.
- Establish and refine workflows and reporting systems for the merchandising team to ensure efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
- Guide the team in aligning production with current fashion trends, customer preferences, and seasonal requirements.
- Present regular updates to senior management on team performance, production status, and areas for improvement.
- Proven ability to manage and mentor a team of merchandisers, fostering collaboration and professional growth.
- Comprehensive understanding of garment production, sourcing, and fast-fashion operations.
- Fluency in Mandarin and English is essential for seamless communication with factories and internal teams.
- Strong skills in analyzing production data, budgets, and performance metrics.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- 5+ years of experience in merchandising, with at least 3 years in a managerial role overseeing a team.
- Solid experience in fast fashion, multi-factory operations, and global supply chain management.
- Strong organizational and communication skills to manage team and vendor relationships effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace for tracking, reporting, and communication.
