Position Overview
We seek a seasoned Apparel Designer with extensive expertise in garment fitting across all categories (e.g., outerwear, sportswear, casualwear). The ideal candidate will excel in creating flawless fits for both men’s and women’s collections, demonstrate strong collaboration with technical and production teams, and communicate effectively with suppliers. Proficiency in CLO 3D and fluency in English are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Familiar with new product development, able to propose design plans based on customer needs, product structure, materials, processes, etc., and able to complete product creativity, pattern design, and product shipments based on design plans and design ideas.
- Pay attention to market dynamics, fashion trends, and consumer needs promptly, continuously optimize products, accurately grasp market popular information, and domestic and foreign women's clothing trends.
- Complete a series of processes from clothing design, pattern making, sample production, mass production, shooting, new products, etc.
- Lead fitting sessions for all garment categories, pay attention to details ensuring precise fit and alignment with design intent.
- Directives develop and refine patterns for collaborate with technical designers, patternmakers, and production teams to resolving fit issues proactively and for streamline workflows.
- Liaise with suppliers to communicate fit adjustments, quality standards, and production timelines.
- Conduct root cause analysis of fitting related challenges and implement corrective actions.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in apparel design, with a focus on garment fitting across diverse categories.
- Proven ability to work seamlessly with men’s and women’s fitting models.
- Strong teamwork skills; experience collaborating with technical, production, and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills to negotiate with suppliers and convey technical requirements.
- Professional experience in Adobe software, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, AI, ERP system, Excel, Advantage for experienced of CLO 3D to create virtual prototypes, reducing physical sampling and accelerating timelines.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); Mandarin is a plus.
- Portfolio demonstrating expertise in fit-centric design solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- International background: Preference for foreign candidates or Chinese designers with study/work experience in London, New York, or Spain.
