Job Description
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Assess current state process and develop future state business process and capability / tool gap assessment.
- Manage a consistent set of reconciliation tools and processes for all materials / categories.
- Manage tools that show fabric open to buy similar to how planning manages finished good open to buy and inventory.
- Identify long term capability and software needs in conjunction with assortment planning and line planning projects underway in merchandise planning.
- Centralized role between merchandise planning and production to plan raw materials levels and provide real time views of planned and future ownership.
- Apply Merchandise Planning inventory management fundamentals to raw material planning.
- Managing raw material needs in conjunction with finished goods needs thru BOM planning.
- Monitor and manage raw material inventory levels by category by month and ensure tied to latest sales forecast.
- Maintain a rolling 6 – 24 month view of fabrics including beginning and ending position based upon latest receipt projections and fabric commitments.
- Long range raw material capacity planning / mill/vendor management strategy.
- Analyze fabric trends and provide recommendations on how to optimize raw materials purchasing patterns and levels.
- Maintain a birds-eye-view over all categories and materials in order to mitigate risk and reduce cancellations/liabilities and efficient use of materials.
- Provide visibility to raw material strategy and trend by season / floorset in order to analyze information of fabric trends to RM levels between development/design/planning/production.
- Ensure key raw materials are rolling and available thru life cycle determined by merchant team.
- Provide cross functional connectivity on raw material availability and liabilities between planning/production/merchants to promote better connected decisions, and keep teams informed of potential risks.
- Primary partners: Production, Merchandise Planning, Merchandising, Design, Product Development; Secondary partners: Finance.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, operations, business, or supply chain preferred.
- 4-6 years of retail planning, inventory management, financial planning and / or production planning experience.
- Strong technical skills in Microsoft Excel and/or related planning, finance or analytical systems.
- Strong business influence skills. Role is highly influential and requires input from various teams to be successful.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines, grow performance capabilities, and handle shifting priorities - able to thrive in a fast paced environment.
- Able to identify and influence critical stakeholders, proactively problem solve, and recommend solutions.
- Extremely strong communication and presentation skills: concisely presents complex information and recommendations in terms meaningful to a variety of audiences.
Pay Range: $75,000 - $90,000 annually
