Senior Apparel Art Manager 

As Senior Apparel Art Manager, you will work to help concept and create repeat, textile, and placement artwork seasonally across all apparel categories.  Along with creating your own artwork you will manage other in-house and outside contract artists to bring a variety of styles keeping the brand fresh.
 
Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Creative Director and VP of Product to develop concept and scope of our seasonal artwork strategy that is consistent with the brand's aesthetic and interprets market trends.
 
  • Provide trend research and concept boards showing creative and market trends and how that can influence the brand artistic perspective in print and textile pattern.
 
  • Work with Design & Product Development to understand seasonal pattern work needs and manage workflow according to development calendar.
 
  • Design original seasonal print and pattern work for line development which includes prints, yarn dyes, logos, appliqués, graphics, and embroidery.
 
  • Manage sending seasonal briefs and art requests to in-house and outside contract artists, adhering to project budgets and timelines.
 
  • Establish and monitor the seasonal artwork process and calendar to ensure project deadlines are met.
 
  • Format all artwork to be production-ready.
 
  • Utilize team resources (internal and external) to effectively execute processes.
 
  • Update and maintain in house print/pattern library.
 
  • Establish and monitor the CAD process and calendar to ensure project deadlines.
 
  • Update and maintain technology, software and equipment needs.

Requirements
  • Minimum 3-5 years apparel textile design and placement graphic experience required.
 
  • Expertise in design software including Photoshop, Illustrator, U4iaPointcarre.
 
  • Highly organized and able to turn around requests in a timely manner.
 
  • Excellent color and print sensibility, with an eye for detail
 
  • Strong communication skills and able to thrive in a team environment while taking direction well.
 
  • Able to manage external contract artists, from concept to delivering artwork on deadline 
 
  • Understand garment construction and terminology as it relates to the job
 
  • Self starter, proactive
 
  • Must be able to create artwork in repeat in a variety of techniques
 
  • Understanding of all aspects of copyright-related to graphics and textile design
 
  • Knowledge and understanding of branding.
 
  • Strong understanding of trends in the market
 
  • Presentation Skills and ability to influence at the senior management level
