Our client is a fast-growing, founder-led e-commerce brand in the apparel and lifestyle space, known for its distinctive design aesthetic, commitment to craftsmanship, and joyful, story-driven approach to brand building. With a highly engaged and loyal customer base, the company is entering its next phase of growth and is seeking a strategic, people-focused Senior Director of Marketing to help scale the brand thoughtfully and sustainably.
 
Position Overview
The Senior Director of Marketing will oversee all marketing functions, balancing creative vision with operational rigor. This leader will bring clarity, structure, and accountability to the marketing organization, ensuring initiatives are data-driven, well-executed, and closely aligned with business objectives.
 
This role leads an in-house marketing team and agency partners, manages the marketing budget, and ensures the brand’s storytelling continues to resonate with and grow a deeply loyal audience. The position reports directly to the CEO and sits on the leadership team.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership & Planning
    • Develop and execute annual and quarterly marketing strategies that drive brand awareness, engagement, and revenue growth
    • Balance creative and analytical thinking, translating brand vision into measurable plans and clear priorities
    • Ensure consistent messaging and storytelling across all channels and campaigns
  • Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing team with empathy, structure, and accountability
    • Establish clear goals, KPIs, and development plans for team members
    • Foster a culture of strong communication, organization, and proactive problem-solving
    • Partner closely with Creative, Merchandising, and Operations teams to align campaigns with product launches and inventory strategies
    • Manage agency relationships with clear direction, timelines, and performance expectations
  • Channel Oversight
    • Oversee strategy and execution across all major marketing channels, including:
      • Paid social and search
      • Retention marketing (email, SMS, loyalty, community)
      • Influencer marketing and PR
      • Affiliate and direct mail
      • Organic social
      • SEO and landing page optimization
      • Brand collaborations and partnerships
  • Budgeting, Analytics & Performance
    • Manage a $5M+ annual marketing budget, ensuring strong ROI and thoughtful allocation
    • Analyze campaign performance, customer insights, and conversion data to inform decision-making
    • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, retention, and customer lifetime value
  • Brand Growth & Community Engagement
    • Strengthen brand equity through compelling storytelling, social engagement, and influencer partnerships
    • Champion core brand values—including creativity, inclusivity, sustainability, and joy—across all initiatives
    • Develop innovative approaches to deepen customer connection and drive repeat engagement
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field preferred
  • 10+ years of marketing experience, including at least 2 years in a senior leadership or director-level role
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing marketing teams
  • Track record of managing $5M+ marketing budgets and delivering measurable growth
  • Deep understanding of e-commerce marketing; experience in fashion, apparel, or lifestyle brands strongly preferred
  • Strong command of performance marketing, retention, analytics, and creative brand storytelling
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to drive alignment and accountability
  • Hands-on experience collaborating cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with EOS (Traction) principles a plus; training available for the right candidate

Salary Range: $150,000–$170,000, plus bonus eligibility up to 15% based on performance
 
This range represents the good-faith estimate of the pay the employer reasonably expects to offer upon hire, based on the role’s responsibilities, required experience, location, and internal equity.
This position may be eligible for equity awards, profit sharing, or other forms of non-cash compensation not included in the posted pay range and, where applicable, will be discussed during the interview or offer process.
