Senior Manager of Procurement

For almost 100 years we’ve been reimagining how to flavor beverages and we’re looking for our next Senior Manager of Procurement to bring our growing business to new heights by utilizing your experience and network to develop partnerships with key suppliers that collectively always ensure operational continuity. Sourcing, negotiating, and buying is second nature to you and your strategic partnerships with our suppliers will enable us to deliver world class flavor around to all our customers.
Your leadership is elevating our Procurement team to the next stage of development as you support and enable growth.  You develop individual and team skills, drive process improvements, and leverage technology to build capability.  Your effectiveness working across the organization and with external partners has accelerated the reputation of the Torani procurement team as a GREAT partner to work with.
SUCCESS FACTORS (first 12-18 months)
  • Strategy Deployment ChampionYou have developed, communicated, and begun the deployment of a procurement tactical plan that supports the achievement of Torani’s overall growth and expansion across the nation. You have engaged the procurement team and enlisted the support of all cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers to ensure the success of scaling the production for this growth and further growth to comeYou’ve ensured all partners understand the role they play in achieving long-term success. 
  • Strategic Supplier Partnerships: You have ensured a reliable and timely supply network is in place for all the ingredients and packaging materials. You have built lasting strategic supplier relationships fostered by robust two-way communication, periodic business reviews and standardized scorecards that enable collaboration and win-win propositions. You have effectively secured master supply agreements with key strategic partners and successfully negotiated terms advantageous to Torani and our suppliers. Your negotiating style supports Torani’s core value of caring deeply for people and community.  
  • Risk Management. By carefully identifying and proactively managing capacity constraints you have avoided production interruptions. You routinely share short and long-term demand with all suppliers.  Secondary suppliers have been qualified where needed to mitigate business continuity risks. 
  • People & Team Development Leader:  You have developed an effective and scalable procurement team, brimming with talent and potential by focusing on engaging and mentoring your team.  As an inspiring leader, you have built the team into a high-performance unit making meaningful contributions to the business.
  • Continuous Improvement + Innovation:  You collaborate with cross-functional team members to understand and support innovation efforts. You partner with R&D to find suppliers capable of developing and delivering ingredients and packaging materials that exceed consumer expectations You ensure supply is secured in time to meet testing and in-market milestones.  You consistently prioritize enhancing the quality of our materials, all the while considering initiatives aimed at improving margins and reducing costs.
  • Capital Purchases: As our new factory has continued to evolve, you have successfully partnered with operations and engineering teams to negotiate and secure contracts that support redesigned business processes and new ways of working.  You clearly understand our growth strategy and protect start-up timing with risk contingencies built into the structure of our agreements.  
  • You love to have FUN!
  • 5+ years of prior success in leading procurement teams to develop and drive supplier relationship, quality programs and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Expertise in managing and negotiating supplier contracts. 
  • Deep understanding of sourcing and procurement best practices that support supplier assessment, qualification, and ongoing management review process. 
  • Proven success negotiating complex business agreements and bringing them to close and building value for both the company and the supplier over time.
  • Extensive background of cross-functional collaboration, executive level communications as well as strong interpersonal, networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Passion for coaching and team member development.
  • Prior experience with planning and inventory software- i.e. Arkieva, Oracle.
