You understand that packaging is the cornerstone of product ideation and excel as a dependable collaborator both within and outside the organization. As the packaging guru within our research and development team, your expertise will play a pivotal role in collaborating with our internal teams and suppliers to innovate and develop new packaging concepts, driving Torani's continued growth.

You are intimately engaged in the work driven by our consumer insights and innovation strategy and you’re always looking for innovative ideas for how we can make our user’s wants and needs come to life. You’ve developed new and creative solutions to drive business expansion into current and untapped markets. You stay abreast of the latest industry trends and advancements in packaging solutions to drive Torani’s marketplace differentiation. You’ve researched and promoted packaging sustainability trends and how they support Torani’s strategy around environmental impact.
• Structural Design Expert: You are the primary business owner and revered as the Subject Matter Expert in all aspects of packaging. From packaging format and structure to material cost, performance, and supplier relationships, you possess comprehensive expertise. Serving as a technical leader, you provide invaluable packaging insights across various product lines, spanning syrup, sauce, and hot & cold fill manufacturing processes, as well as new innovations. You have orchestrated structural packaging design, spearheaded prototype development, ensuring seamless performance across filling and packaging lines, and conducting thorough product compatibility, usage, and performance testing. You leverage your knowledge of engineered drawings and specifications of product to determine physical characteristics, special handling, environmental and safety requirements, and types of materials required for packaging. You’ve excelled in cross-functional collaboration, working seamlessly with Engineering, Brand, R+D, and other departments to achieve collective success.
• Passionate Packaging Partner: Through your deep understanding of supplier capabilities and operations along with your own technical knowledge, you are a trusted partner with our suppliers and external partners. You've cultivated strong relations with vendors to secure consistent support for packaging innovations. You play a crucial role in ensuring Torani Fit" alongside competitive supply rates when making decisions. You’ve enhanced our Packaging Supplier Evaluation process to consistently identify improvement opportunities in material quality and packaging performance. You effectively build relationships with internal key stakeholders to ensure alignment on strategy, project execution, and successful fulfillment of deliverables.
• Project Manager: You are an experienced project leader, supporting our product innovation initiative from development of concepts, product testing, and all the way through production in our Flavor Factory and co- manufacturers, delivering projects on time, within scope, and on budget. As the leader in packaging, contributing to Torani’s innovation, you’ve demonstrated your ability to lead cross-functional teams by providing direction, motivation, and support to achieve project goals. Your adaptability and problem-solving skills allow you to react to changing project requirements and resolve issues effectively to keep projects on track.
• Quality Improvement: By analyzing and proposing efficiency tools and test methods, you contribute to the development and validation of packaging designs quality, collaborating closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on recommendations. Furthermore, by guiding the team through effective root cause analysis and system failures you can prescribe corrective measures with a keen focus on quality.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• 7+ years of experience in industrial or consumer packaging, preferably in food manufacturing
• 5+ years working directly with multiple suppliers with manufacturing quality standards
• Strong leadership skills and excellent ability to lead, motivate and influence others throughout the organization.
• Ability to manage change, thrive in a fast-paced environment, deal with ambiguity, and prioritize multiple projects
• Direct experience managing the entirety of the packaging life cycle including
• Knowledge and understanding of packaging design validation standards (ISO, ASTM, etc.), drafting and specification standards is essential. Demonstrable proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software is needed
• Knowledge of commodity packaging molding processes, EBM, ISBM, IM
• Knowledgeable in multiple packaging materials, formats, conversion processes, configurations, and processing technologies.
• Experience with dispensing systems (pumps, trigger sprayers, dispensing caps)
• Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time
Salary Range: $136,825-$140,000
