Senior Technical Designer, International Sizing & Global Fit
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Designer with deep expertise in international sizing, global fit standards, and regional grading strategies across multiple markets, specifically Europe, the UK, and Canada. Experience supporting Asia markets is a significant plus.
In this role, you will lead technical design and fit execution with a focus on building and maintaining scalable global sizing standards that ensure consistency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction across international regions. You will play a key role in developing fit strategies that support regional body shape variations, market expectations, and size conversions while maintaining overall brand consistency.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in global grading, international fit standards, and cross-regional product development, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and overseas teams in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Responsibilities
- Own and lead the technical design and fit process from initial prototype through bulk production approval with a focus on international sizing and global fit consistency.
- Develop, maintain, and refine global fit blocks, grading standards, and size conversion frameworks across Europe, the UK, and Canada.
- Support the development of scalable regional fit strategies that address market-specific body shapes, customer expectations, and sizing standards.
- Create, update, and manage detailed technical specifications, garment measurements, grading rules, and construction standards.
- Conduct fit sessions, evaluate samples, and provide detailed fit and construction comments to vendors and factories.
- Partner closely with merchandising, sourcing, product development, production, and overseas teams to ensure alignment across international markets.
- Collaborate with global technical design teams to establish and maintain standardized fit processes and best practices across regions.
- Analyze customer feedback, return data, regional sales trends, and fit performance to continuously improve global sizing accuracy and customer satisfaction.
- Evaluate patterns and grading to ensure consistency and fit integrity across all size ranges and international markets.
- Troubleshoot technical fit, grading, and construction challenges while providing scalable solutions.
- Ensure all garments align with company standards for fit, construction, quality, and regional market expectations.
- Utilize technical design tools and systems including Excel, Google Sheets, PLM systems, and patternmaking software as needed.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 8+ years of technical design experience with strong expertise in international sizing and global fit standards.
- Deep understanding of Europe, UK, and Canada size ranges, grading, and regional fit expectations.
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, grading, and fit evaluation across multiple international markets.
- Experience building and maintaining global fit blocks and regional sizing strategies.
- Asia market fit and sizing experience is highly preferred.
- Experience managing the fit process from prototype through production.
- Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and technical design software.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in technical specifications, grading, and fit execution.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with both internal teams and external global partners.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Solution-oriented mindset with strong technical problem-solving capabilities.
- Salary range of $120,000 - $140,000
- 5 days on site
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Standing and walking throughout the workday.
- Ability to navigate stairs and ladders as required.
- Bending, twisting, kneeling, and maneuvering garments or materials throughout the day.
- Occasional travel or off-site support may be required.
