Senior Designer – Woman’s Athletic Apparel
 
Our client a multi-branded apparel company, specializing in Athletic and Athleisure Apparel, for Woman’s is looking talented Senior Designer to join their team. As the Senior Designer you will lead the team in the creation of product for multiple channels. Creating assortments which deliver to the needs of the business. 
 
Responsibilities 
  • Provide design and trend direction for the full assortment for both brands under the company’s portfolio 
  • Participate and present at trend meetings each season
  • Present product at client and buyer pre-line meetings
  • Consistently shop the market (our competition and aspirational brands) for inspiration and product opportunities
  • Design the line according to classification/style plans, sales needs and emerging trends
  • Manage and adhere to time and action calendar
  • Participate in seasonal color direction and color palette building
  • Lead fabric, yarn and trim innovation
  • Ensure line stays on brand and has consistent styling details
  • Ensure product is being designed within cost parameters
  • Manage all overseas communication with sample rooms to ensure correct and timely samples
  • Attend all comparison fittings, proto fittings and production fittings to ensure we have the best fit and details
  • Merchandise and style showrooms for market weeks
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales on collateral for buyers, trims and in store marketing needs
  • Build strong relationships with sales, production, tech, fabric R&D and marketing
  • Lead tech-packing schedule and execution to ensure deadlines are met
Position Requirements:
  • Experience leading and designing a successful woman’s athletic apparel brand
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design or equivalent
  • Knowledge in manufacturing (including construction and fit) and component sourcing/manufacturing (materials development, duties, etc).
  • Ability to problem-solve when dealing with specifications, construction or material issues with vendors.
  • Strong Photoshop, InDesign & Illustrator skills
  • Strong sketching and design capability
  • Experience working with Walmart a huge plus
  • Strong leadership
Salary range $100,000-$120,000
