VP Of Design 
 
Job Description:
  • Develop and administer merchandising calendar for all Brands in the Contemporary Brands Division with the goal of bringing all lines sampled and priced on time to each seasonal market
  • Collaborate with Division Head in understanding topline sales and gross profit dollar budget, and partner accordingly to build out a product merchandising strategy to achieve these goals
  • Collaborate with Division Head to set product development budget, and monitor/ensure adherence to it
  • Identify exiting and develop new merchandise categories that resonate with our customers and ultimately-our end consumers
  • Partner with sales, design, and sourcing teams in conception and development of best in class products within our targeted cost and margin plans in order to achieve our Division’s annual financial goal
  • Gain  a keen and clear understanding of each brand’s aesthetic and its positioning in the market; and consistently deliver product congruent with this understanding
  • Lead the product development team in all facets of product development
  • Ensure sales team has all necessary tools to adhere their sales goals; including timely samples , line sheets, new product information, etc
  • Sit in on key customer sales meetings as necessary
  • Take role as liaison with licensors in regards to all necessary product and trim approvals
  • Responsible to coordinate and oversee all photoshoots and development of creative assets for our customers, Amazon, or any e-comm business
  • Oversee aesthetic, content and execution of brand books
  • Oversee the freshening up of showroom prior to each major market week
  • Manage sample purging and sample organization efforts seasonally
  • Partner with sourcing teams to seek new efficient cost effective sources of supply for salesman samples
  • Lead, monitor, train and develop the product development team members. Provide inspiring and challenging opportunities to foster camaraderie and personal growth
  • Take leading role in continual competitive shopping and research to identify new and emerging trends in order to maintain our competitive edge
  • Organize seasonal “best seller” meetings with sales and design
  • Continually keep eye out for opportunities as it relates to “white spaces” in the market
  • Demonstrate a collaborative, optimistic and passionate demeanor to all members of the team. 
 
Qualifications:
 
  • Minimum 10 years experience in women’s sportswear and denim market
  • Strong track record in meeting and exceeding targets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Display strong leadership skills
  • Ability to react quickly with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to take initiative and ownership of projects
  • Strong ability to multitask 
 
 Salary range: $170-175K
