About the Role
We are seeking a highly analytical, collaborative, and trend-driven Merchandiser to lead assortment planning, sales forecasting, inventory strategy, and product performance analysis across our business. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong business acumen with a deep understanding of product development, consumer trends, and cross-functional coordination.
The Merchandiser will work closely with Sales, Design, Product Development, Marketing, and Operations to build compelling assortments, optimize inventory, and drive sales growth across retail accounts and trunk shows.
Key Responsibilities
Merchandising & Assortment Planning
- Develop and maintain category matrices, including product buckets, pricing tiers, color assortments, product variation strategies, and seasonal quantity planning.
- Partner with Product Development and Design teams to shape seasonal assortments aligned with market demand and brand objectives.
- Conduct advanced trend, color, and competitive research to inform merchandising and design direction.
Market & Sales Analysis
- Perform ongoing market analysis, including industry trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activity.
- Analyze sales performance and product productivity to identify opportunities for growth and optimization.
- Prepare weekly and monthly reporting on sales performance, assortment effectiveness, and market trends.
Forecasting & Inventory Management
- Create and manage seasonal sales forecasts, buying plans, inventory budgets, and sales targets in partnership with Sales leadership.
- Monitor inventory levels, stock allocation, and product performance across accounts and trunk shows.
- Oversee bead room inventory and trunk show inventory management.
- Lead trunk show restructuring and rebuilding prior to each trunk show season.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Maintain strong communication and collaboration across Sales, Marketing, Design, Product Development, and Operations teams.
- Ensure seamless integration between merchandising initiatives and sales strategies.
- Maintain transparency and accuracy within Cin7, ensuring all sales orders and branch transfers are updated and visible to relevant teams.
Innovation & Tools
- Utilize AI platforms and emerging technologies (such as Claude or similar tools) to support merchandising research, planning, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of merchandising, planning, or product management experience in fashion, accessories, jewelry, or luxury goods preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in sales analysis, forecasting, and inventory management.
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills with a high level of responsiveness and attention to detail.
- Experience with ERP or inventory management systems such as Cin7 preferred.
- Strong understanding of market trends, assortment strategy, and product lifecycle management.
- Comfortable working in a highly collaborative, high-communication environment.
